Privacy Policy

Effective Date: May 8, 2026

Mogak (hereinafter "Company") complies with applicable laws and regulations, including the Personal Information Protection Act, and establishes and discloses this Privacy Policy to protect users' personal information.

Article 1 (Purposes of Processing Personal Information)

The Company processes personal information for the following purposes. Personal information being processed will not be used for any purpose other than the following, and if the purpose of use changes, the Company will take necessary measures, such as obtaining separate consent in accordance with Article 18 of the Personal Information Protection Act.

  1. Membership registration and management: Confirmation of intent to join, identity verification and authentication for member services, maintenance and management of membership status, prevention of misuse of services, and various notices and notifications
  2. Service provision: Posting and participating in Mogak sessions, community functions, content delivery, and personalized services

Article 2 (Retention and Processing Period of Personal Information)

The Company processes and retains personal information within the personal information retention and use period prescribed by law or agreed upon when collecting personal information from the data subject.

  1. Membership registration and management: Until withdrawal from membership. However, in the following cases, personal information is retained until the relevant cause is resolved:
    • When an investigation or inquiry is in progress due to violation of applicable law: until the investigation or inquiry is concluded
    • When outstanding receivables or payables exist in connection with the use of the Services: until such receivables or payables are settled

Article 3 (Items of Personal Information Processed)

The Company processes the following items of personal information.

  1. Membership registration and management
    • Required: email address, display name (nickname)
    • Optional: profile image
  2. When using Google social login
    • Google account email address, Firebase UID
  3. Information automatically generated and collected during use of the Services
    • IP address, cookies, service usage history, visit history

Article 4 (Provision of Personal Information to Third Parties)

The Company processes personal information only within the scope specified in Article 1, and provides personal information to third parties only where the data subject has consented or as otherwise permitted under Articles 17 and 18 of the Personal Information Protection Act, including specific legal provisions.

The Company does not currently provide personal information to third parties.

Article 5 (Consignment of Personal Information Processing)

The Company entrusts the processing of personal information as follows for smooth handling of personal information affairs.

The above consignees are located in the United States, and personal information is transferred overseas. The Company discloses the transfer destination country, items transferred, timing and method of transfer, and consignee information in accordance with Article 28-8 of the Personal Information Protection Act.

When concluding consignment agreements, the Company specifies matters relating to liability, including prohibition of processing personal information for purposes other than the consigned tasks, technical and administrative protective measures, restrictions on re-consignment, supervision of the consignee, and compensation for damages, in contracts and other documents, in accordance with Article 26 of the Personal Information Protection Act.

Article 6 (Rights and Obligations of Data Subjects and How to Exercise Them)

Data subjects may exercise the following personal information protection rights against the Company at any time.

  1. Right to request access to personal information
  2. Right to request correction in case of errors
  3. Right to request deletion
  4. Right to request suspension of processing
  5. Right to request portability of personal information (newly established under the Personal Information Protection Act amended in March 2026)
  6. Right to refuse or request explanation regarding automated decisions (newly established under the Personal Information Protection Act amended in March 2026)

Rights may be exercised by written request, email, or other means, and the Company will take action without delay.

Article 7 (Destruction of Personal Information)

When personal information becomes unnecessary, such as upon the expiration of the retention period or achievement of the processing purpose, the Company destroys such personal information without delay.

  1. Destruction procedure: Unnecessary personal information is destroyed under the responsibility of the Personal Information Protection Officer.
  2. Destruction method:
    • Electronic files: deleted using technical methods that prevent recovery of records
    • Paper printouts: destroyed by shredding or incineration

Article 8 (Processing of Personal Information of Children Under 14)

The Company restricts membership registration for children under 14 years of age. If a child under 14 attempts to register as a member, use of the Services will be refused.

Article 9 (Measures to Ensure Security of Personal Information)

The Company takes the following measures to ensure the security of personal information.

  1. Administrative measures: Establishment and implementation of internal management plans, minimization and training of personal information handling staff
  2. Technical measures: Management of access rights to personal information processing systems, installation of access control systems, encryption, installation of security programs
  3. Physical measures: Access control for computer rooms, data storage rooms, and similar facilities

Article 10 (Installation, Operation, and Refusal of Cookies)

The Company uses only cookies that are essential to the operation of the Services and does not currently use cookies for analytical or marketing purposes. Additional cookies will be used only with the consent of users.

Users may refuse to accept cookies through their web browser options. However, if cookie storage is refused, services that require login may be difficult to use.

Article 11 (Personal Information Protection Officer)

The Company designates a Personal Information Protection Officer to take overall responsibility for personal information processing affairs and to handle complaints and remedy damages related to personal information processing by data subjects.

Article 12 (Methods for Remedying Infringement of Rights)

Data subjects may contact the following organizations regarding remedies and consultations for personal information infringement.

Article 13 (Changes to This Privacy Policy)

This Privacy Policy is effective from May 8, 2026. Previous versions of the Privacy Policy are available upon request from the Company.

This Privacy Policy was prepared based on the Ministry of the Interior and Safety's standard Privacy Policy format and the Personal Information Protection Commission's drafting guidelines (April 2025).
